The Center for Urologic Research of WNY, LLC, a division of Main Urology Associates, P.C., a well established and recognized urology practice of over 45 years is the first of its kind in Western New York. It was founded by Philip J. Aliotta, MD, Administrative Partner, in 1998.
The Center for Urologic Research of WNY, LLC is committed to the introduction of cutting-edge technologies to the community through the various Institutional Review Board approved clinical trials that have been or are being conducted. The Center has established itself as a benchmark of excellence on a local, state, and national level. Doctors lecture on local, national, and international levels due to their commitment and enthusiasm for offering new and improved medical therapies to our patients.

The Center played a pivotal role in participating in trials that led to the FDA approval of the following medications:
- Viagra®, Levitra®, Cialis® for the treatment of Erectile Dysfunction
- Ditropan® XL, Detrol® (LA), Oxytrol®, Sanctura®, Enablex® and Vesicare® for Overactive Bladder with Urge Urinary Incontinence
- Lunesta® for Insomnia
- Abarelix® for Prostate Cancer
Investigators
Philip J. Aliotta, MD, MHA, FACS, CPI (Certified Principal Investigator) is the Medical Director and Principal Investigator for all trials.
Sub-Investigators include Drs. Mark D. Chazen, John V. Pinski and Dattatraya G. Wagle.
Our Physician Assistant is Susan M. Joseph.
Nurse Practitioners include: James J. Conley, RN, FNP-C and Scott D. Clark, RN, ANP-C
There are two Research Coordinators: Debbie A. D’Orazio, RN, CCRC (Certified Clinical Research Coordinator) and Nancy Owczarczak, also the lab and ECG technician.
Both coordinators are IATA trained and certified.
Since 1998, clinical Phase II, III, and IV trials have been conducted in the areas of Erectile Dysfunction, BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia), Overactive Bladder with/without Stress/Urge Urinary Incontinence, Hypogonadism, Premature or Rapid Ejaculation, Sperm Assessment, Prostate Cancer, and Prostatitis.
